I have so many great memories of my times with Eric, including:
- Early discussions of trading with Eric, Michael Littman and Michael Kearns
- Our initial efforts with Mark at Open Data to develop a successful trader (we made $384.40 on our first day of trading 6/7/06!)
- Negotiations with Lee to form Lion Cave
- The time we entered orders by hand at Adam's house, and got in trouble for being on both sides of a single order
- The golf outing Eric and I played in at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster (yes, Eric played golf!)
Perhaps my fondest memories are of the many planning and strategy sessions Eric and I had at Mino's Cafe in Basking Ridge. Eric always referred to Mino's as "the finest Paraguayan restaurant in Basking Ridge." No need for menus at Mino's ... everyone ordered one of the two specials that were written on a blackboard each day. We would discuss our latest trading ideas and work out formulas with no concern that the landscapers at the other tables would be listening in. Our conversations strayed far beyond trading. We talked about science, literature, politics, economics, social problems, everything. All of you who knew Eric know how he could talk knowledgeably about so many subjects. But one thing I learned at Mino's was how good Eric was at handling a knife and fork. After our lunches, my plate was a mess, while Eric's was virtually spotless and his chicken bones were picked completely clean.
I wish I had taken some pictures at Mino's. Here is one I like from our early days of the Cave:

Thank you for this, Dave, it is so lovely and you capture him beautifully! I'm going to have to go visit Mino's.
